Rules for Futsal:

Social Sports VT Adult League Rules apply
except for / in addition to
the following futsal-specific rules:
Format
- Games will be played
5v5
(4 field players + 1 goalkeeper)
For Coed: Teams must have a minimum of 1 player of each sex on the field at all times
Ball
Matches will use an official futsal ball (low-bounce, size 4)
Goalkeeper Restrictions
No punting or drop-kicking is allowed by the goalkeeper
No Goal Kicks
- There are
no goal kicks in Futsal Friendlies
- All restarts from the goalkeeper will begin
with the ball in hand
- The goalkeeper may:
- Roll the ball into play
- Throw the ball into play
- Drop the ball to their feet (ball becomes live immediately)
- Once the goalkeeper drops the ball to the ground, they may not pick it back up unless an opponent touches the ball first
Goalkeeper Half Restriction
- If the goalkeeper throws the ball into play, the ball must bounce in their own half before crossing midfield
- If the ball crosses midfield without bouncing, possession is awarded to the opponent as a midfield free kick
Red Cards
- If a player receives a
red card:
- The player is ejected for the remainder of the tournament
- The team must play
down a player for 2 minutes
or until a goal is conceded, whichever comes first
