The Social Sports VT Spirit Championship:

A Mid-season Award

This season, we’re adding an important new competition to both our coed and women’s leagues: the Social Sports Spirit Championship.

After each game, teams evaluate their opponents based on sportsmanship, respect, friendliness and how enjoyable they were to share the field with. These ratings accumulate throughout the season, and the highest-rated teams are crowned our Spirit Champions.

We believe how a team plays — and how it treats opponents, referees and teammates — is every bit as important as where it finishes in the standings. Social Sports leagues should be competitive, but they should also be welcoming, respectful and genuinely fun. The Spirit Championship gives meaningful recognition to the teams that best represent those values and make the entire league better for everyone.

The competition carries real rewards, too! First place earns a $300 credit toward a future season, second place receives a $200 credit and third place receives a $100 credit.

Winning games matters. Building the kind of soccer community people want to return to season after season matters just as much. We’re excited to celebrate the teams that do both.
