It's Time To Build the Vibe Back

It’s that time of year. The days are getting longer, the sun is showing up again, and somehow — miraculously — SAD has come full circle and decided to make us feel hopeful again.

Recently, one of our league-mates asked a question that stopped us in our tracks:

What can we do to make Social Sports feel like a real community again?

And honestly? It’s a fair question.

Since the field house bar closed a few seasons ago, we’ve lost a little bit of that family vibe when we move indoors from September through April — the hanging around, the random conversations, the post-game laughs that lasted longer than the games themselves. And while leagues come and go, community is what made this place special.

Here’s the thing though:
We still have the most important part.

You.

We love soccer. We love sports. We love the Vermont community. And we love all of you. Anyone we’ve chased a ball with, shared a laugh with, or even argued with and come out the other side respectfully — that’s a brother or sister for life. That doesn’t disappear just because a bar closes.

Some of that connection has slipped away — and that’s okay. Life happens. Seasons change.
But we think it’s time to
build it back.

And we can’t do that alone.

So we’re asking you:

  • What would make you want to stick around a little longer after games?
  • What would make it easier to talk to someone new?
  • What would help this league feel more like a place you belong, not just a place you play?

We’ve got a few ideas we’ll share soon — but this isn’t about us having all the answers. It’s about building something together.

So talk to your teammates.

Talk to your friends.

Talk to your USPS delivery person.
(Seriously — we know they’ve got opinions.)

Send us your best ideas. Your wild ideas. Your “what if we tried this?” ideas.

We know you’ll come through.
You always do.

Much love, brothers and sisters.
And thanks — always — for coming out to play. 💛
